More than 150 people attended the event and participated in an array of family fun activities that included potato sack races, face painting, meet and greet new neighbors, haunted hayride, haunted walk through neighborhood trails, bonfire with s’mores, chili cook-off and cookie contest. The event, planned by residents of Evans Farms, lasted from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Time is Running Out to Take Advantage of Down Payment Assistance Programs Ending September 30, 2008

According to the new Housing Stimulus Law passed last month, many down payment assistance programs will not operate as they have in the past beginning October 1. A federal tax credit for first-time home buyers will be available, but home buyers planning to take advantage of down payment assistance programs and in the process of closing or searching for the perfect home need to act fast. Homes must close by September 30, 2008 in order to receive financial support from many programs.

McCar Homes far surpassed their goal of $250,000 at their Eighth Annual Charity Spring Classic golf tournament held in May.
