McCar Homes founders Dan and Elaine McSwain started their family business over 50 years ago in Vidalia, Ga. Their vision was to
build the best homes possible in prime locations, using quality materials and construction methods, while at the same time
offering their home owners an outstanding value. When their company outgrew the Vidalia area, they relocated McCar Homes to
Atlanta, where their reputation for integrity and quality set them apart from many other builders.
Moving to Atlanta also meant expanding the business, so Dan and Elaine brought in a team of industry professionals: engineers,
architects, estimators, builders, designers and realtors, who combine their experience and knowledge with state-of-the-art
technology, to deliver an outstanding product, one that is measured in terms of excellence for quality, design and value. From
acquisition of raw land through construction and final closeout of a community, McCar’s in-house management staff provides
complete, turnkey services. Whether developing a large, master-planned community with extensive amenities or a smaller, exclusive
in-fill neighborhood, McCar Homes has always maintained their vision to build the best.
Today, Dan and Elaine are still active participants in establishing their company's direction and policy. But their most rewarding
moments are those that reflect on the pride they have in their employees and their ability to maintain the vision that began more
than 50 years ago.
